নিউজ ডেস্ক>>> দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের ভোট গ্রহণ করা হবে আগামী ৭ জানুয়ারি। আজ বুধবার সন্ধ্যায় জাতির উদ্দেশে দেওয়া ভাষণে সংসদ নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করেন প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার (সিইসি) কাজী হাবিবুল আউয়াল। সন্ধ্যা সাতটায় বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশন ও বাংলাদেশ বেতারে সিইসির ভাষণ সম্প্রচার হয়।

ঘোষিত তফসিল অনুযায়ী, দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের জন্য মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দেওয়ার শেষ তারিখ ৩০ নভেম্বর। মনোনয়নপত্র বাছাই হবে ১ থেকে ৪ ডিসেম্বর। প্রার্থিতা প্রত্যাহারের শেষ তারিখ ১৭ ডিসেম্বর ডিসেম্বর। প্রতীক বরাদ্দ ১৮ ডিসেম্বর।
নির্বাচনকালীন সরকার কী হবে, তা নিয়ে রাজনৈতিক সমঝোতা এখনো হয়নি। বিএনপি বর্তমান সরকারের অধীন নির্বাচনে না যাওয়ার ঘোষণা দিয়ে রেখেছে।
বিএনপি সহ সমমনা বিরোধী দলগুলো সরকারের পদত্যাগের দাবিতে হরতাল-অবরোধ কর্মসূচি পালন করছে। সংঘাতময় এ রাজনৈতিক পরিস্থিতির মধ্যেই সংসদ নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করলেন সিইসি।
সংবিধানের অনুচ্ছেদ ১২৩ দফা (৩) উপদফা (ক) এর বরাতে এবং নির্বাচন কমিশনের সিদ্ধান্ত মোতাবেক দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের সময়সূচি ঘোষণা করেন সিইসি।
জাতির উদ্দেশে ভাষণ দেওয়ার আগে বিকেল পাঁচটায় নির্বাচন ভবনে প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার কাজী হাবিবুল আউয়ালের সভাপতিত্বে বৈঠক করেন নির্বাচন কমিশনাররা। সেখানে নির্বাচনের তফসিল চূড়ান্ত করা হয়।
২০১৮ সালের ৩০ ডিসেম্বর একাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সংবিধান অনুযায়ী সংসদের মেয়াদ পূর্তির আগের ৯০ দিনের মধ্যে পরবর্তী সংসদ নির্বাচন করতে হয়। চলতি সংসদের মেয়াদ শেষ হচ্ছে আগামী বছরের ২৯ জানুয়ারি। এর আগের ৯০ দিনের মধ্যে দ্বাদশ সংসদ নির্বাচন করার বাধ্যবাধকতা আছে।
আগামী দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে সারা দেশে মোট ভোটার ১১ কোটি ৯৬ লাখ ৯১ হাজার ৬৩৩ জন। ২ নভেম্বর সংসদ নির্বাচনের চূড়ান্ত ভোটার সংখ্যা প্রকাশ করেন নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসি)। ইসির দেওয়া তথ্য অনুযায়ী, মোট ভোটারের মধ্যে পুরুষ ভোটার ৬ কোটি ৭ লাখ ৭১ হাজার ৫৭৯ জন। নারী ভোটার ৫ কোটি ৮৯ লাখ ১৯ হাজার ২০২ জন। আর হিজড়া ভোটারের সংখ্যা ৮৫২।
এমন সময় নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করা হলো, যখন বিএনপি সহ বিরোধী দলগুলো সরকারের পদত্যাগের দাবিতে আন্দোলন করছে। বিএনপি এবং যুগপৎ আন্দোলনে থাকা অন্যান্য রাজনৈতিক দল ও জোট তফসিল ঘোষণা করা হলে কঠোর কর্মসূচি দেওয়ার কথা বলে আসছে।
এমন পরিস্থিতিতে গত সোমবার যুক্তরাষ্ট্র তিন দলকে শর্তহীন সংলাপে বসার আহ্বান জানিয়ে চিঠি দেয়। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সহকারী পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ডোনাল্ড লুর দেওয়া চিঠি বিএনপি ও জাতীয় পার্টি পেয়েছে।
আজ আওয়ামীলীগ ও চিঠি পেয়েছে। তবে চিঠি পেয়ে আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ওবায়দুল কাদের বলেছেন, এখন আর সংলাপের সময় নেই।

The votes for the 12th National Assembly elections will be taken on January 7. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced the schedule of parliamentary elections in his address to the nation on Wednesday evening. CEC’s speech was broadcast on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar at seven o’clock in the evening.
As per the announced schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers for the 12th National Assembly elections is November 30. Nomination papers will be selected from 1st to 4th December. Last date for withdrawal of candidature is 17th December. Allotment of symbols on 18th December.
There is no political consensus yet on what will be the government during the election. BNP has announced not to go to the elections under the current government.
Like-minded opposition parties including BNP are conducting hartal-blockade program demanding resignation of the government. CEC announced the schedule of parliamentary elections in this conflicting political situation.
The CEC announced the schedule of the 12th National Parliament Elections in accordance with Article 123 Clause (3) Sub-section (a) of the Constitution and in accordance with the decision of the Election Commission.

The total number of voters in the upcoming 12th National Parliament election is 11 crore 96 lakh 91 thousand 633. The Election Commission (EC) has released the final number of voters for the parliamentary elections on November 2. According to the information provided by the EC, 6 crore 7 lakh 71 thousand 579 of the total voters are male voters. 5 crore 89 lakh 19 thousand 202 women voters. And the number of Hijra voters is 852.
The election schedule was announced at a time when the opposition parties, including the BNP, are agitating for the resignation of the government. BNP and other political parties and alliances in the simultaneous movement have been promising to give strict programs when the schedule is announced.
In such a situation, the United States sent a letter urging the three parties to sit in an unconditional dialogue on Monday. BNP and Jatiya Party have received the letter from US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu.
Awami League also received the letter today. However, after receiving the letter, General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Quader said, now is no time for dialogue.
